OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its flagship phone, the OnePlus 12, by the end of this year in China. Additionally, there are strong indications that the brand may introduce a new Ace-branded smartphone, the OnePlus Ace 3, either in October or November in China, or alongside the OnePlus 12 in December. Earlier this month, prominent tipster Digital Chat Station leaked detailed specifications of an upcoming OnePlus flagship tailored for the Chinese market. Confirming this information, the tipster's recent Weibo post solidifies that this device will indeed bear the moniker OnePlus Ace 3, while also reaffirming key specifications.

As per the tipster, the OnePlus Ace 3 will be powered by the formidable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This marks the third device from OnePlus to feature the SD8G2 SoC, following the OnePlus 11 5G and the Ace 2 Pro, both exclusive to the Chinese market.
Additionally, the Ace 3 will boast a metal middle frame and house a robust 5,500mAh battery capable of blazing-fast 100W charging. Its rear camera setup will incorporate a Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
Expanding on previous leaks, the Ace 3 will showcase a 6.74-inch OLED display with elegantly curved edges. This display will offer a crisp 1.5K resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and support for high-frequency dimming. The camera array on the back will feature a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel primary camera, an OmniVision OV8D10 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera. While specific RAM and storage configurations remain undisclosed, it's speculated that the device could offer up to 16 GB or even 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage options of 512 GB or 1 TB with UFS 4.0 technology.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is also expected to extend its reach beyond China, with India being a probable destination. In such cases, it may potentially be rebranded as the OnePlus 12R when marketed outside of China.
