The OnePlus 12, developed by Chinese tech company OnePlus and frequently making headlines, is now in the news for its display quality.
OnePlus is making waves in the tech industry with its imminent announcement of the OnePlus Open, its first foldable phone, set to launch globally tomorrow. Alongside this, the brand is reportedly in the midst of developing its next-generation flagship smartphone: the OnePlus 12. This smartphone is anticipated to hit the market by year-end. Last month, leaked renders provided some insights into its design and features.
The OnePlus 12 is touted to come with a high-end screen named ‘Dongfang’. This screen promises a 2K display resolution, complemented by curved edges as hinted at in the recent leaks. Notably, a renowned tipster, Digital Chat Station, suggests that this display will surpass the quality of Samsung’s AMOLED panels, making it a frontrunner in the industry. It's expected to deliver superior color accuracy, brightness, and eye protection. There's also talk of the device incorporating exclusive technologies, although specifics remain under wraps for now.

Earlier, the same tipster shared that the OnePlus 12 would boast a 6.82-inch curved OLED screen with a resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels. It's also said to feature a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming for an enhanced viewing experience. In terms of camera specifications, the smartphone might house a 50MP 1/1.4-inch OIS-enabled primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP OIS periscope unit.
From the design perspective, leaked visuals indicate that the OnePlus 12 will maintain a design lineage consistent with its predecessors. Some notable elements include a glossy half-pill-shaped island extending from the side frame, a center-placed punch-hole cutout, and the signature alert slider positioned on the right.
