OnePlus 11 endures intense bend test, narrowly escapes damage
The OnePlus 11 has finally broken the curse of its predecessors, the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T, which were known to snap in half with ease.
The previous generations of OnePlus smartphones have been found to have structural flaws, with the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10T being easily breakable with bare hands as tested by JerryRigEverything. However, the OnePlus 11 has finally passed a bend test and has not shown any structural issues.
Zack from JerryRigEverything has conducted a durability test on the OnePlus 11, subjecting it to standard torture tests including scratches, fire, and more. Overall, the phone performs well and holds up to the tests.
The front glass endures the scratch tests, and the rest of the phone proves to be durable as well. The display passes the burn test for over 50 seconds without any damage, which is impressive.
However, the only noticeable flaw is that the fingerprint sensor stops working after scratches that measure level 7 on the Moh's hardness scale are made in the area above it. This is a rare failure in phones during this test.
During the bend test conducted by Zack, there were some noticeable creaks and cracks, but the OnePlus 11 managed to pass the test without breaking or malfunctioning. However, the rear glass panel suffered a deep breakage almost immediately, and further pressure from a finger caused it to break in multiple areas.
Although such intense bending is unlikely to happen in everyday use, the ease with which the rear glass panel cracked is still concerning.
