Nubia Z60 Ultra hits the market: 120Hz OLED screen and more

The Nubia Z60 Ultra has recently been launched in China, marking ZTE's latest addition to its smartphone lineup powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This release follows the Red Magic 9 Pro and Red Magic 9 Pro+, both gaming-focused smartphones, and positions the Z60 Ultra as a strong competitor in the Chinese market against devices like the OnePlus 12, Realme GT 5 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Pro.

The Nubia Z60 Ultra is designed to offer a full-screen viewing experience, a standout feature in today's smartphone market. It achieves this with slim bezels and ZTE’s fifth-generation under-display camera technology, eliminating the need for a traditional camera cutout. This technology promises improved front camera performance, despite being placed beneath the display.

The device comes in three eye-catching variants: the Star Collector’s Edition, Galaxy, and Star Glory colors. The Starry Sky Collector’s Edition features a unique 3D starry sky design on the back panel, created using micro-etching technology. The Galaxy and Star Glory variants, on the other hand, use AG frosting technology to achieve a mix of matte and bright finishes. The Nubia Z60 Ultra is also designed to be durable with an IP68-rated dustproof and water-resistant body. It weighs 246 grams and has a thickness of 8.78mm.

In terms of display, the Nubia Z60 Ultra boasts a 6.8-inch BOE Q9+ OLED panel. This screen provides a 1.5K resolution of 2480 x 1116 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device also offers a 1200Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, local peak brightness of 1500 nits, 10-bit color depth, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. For added security, an in-screen fingerprint scanner is integrated.

As for the specifications, features, and price, the Nubia Z60 Ultra is set to compete with top-tier smartphones in its category, promising high-end camera performance and a range of advanced features.
