Display, design and more
Nothing Phone (2) retains the familiar design of its predecessor, featuring a transparent back and an LED lights interface. However, there are notable changes to be found when comparing it to the previous model. One noticeable alteration is the relocation of the selfie camera cutout, which now resides in the center of the display instead of the left side.
Additionally, the Glyph interface on the device has undergone reconfiguration, offering even more impressive functionality. The smartphone boasts a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display, delivering a high-quality visual experience with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a resolution of 1080 x 2412, and a peak brightness of 1600 nits.
Specifications
The Nothing Phone (2) receives a significant hardware upgrade compared to its predecessor. Replacing the Snapdragon 778G+, the device now incorporates the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, offering enhanced performance and balanced thermals. The phone is equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and USF 3.1 storage, further boosting its capabilities.
In terms of camera specifications, the rear camera setup features a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and in-sensor zoom, which is the same primary sensor found in the OnePlus 11. Additionally, there is a 50MP ultrawide camera utilizing the Samsung JN1 sensor. For capturing selfies, the device is equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX615 front-facing camera supported by electronic image stabilization (EIS).
Powering the device is a 4,700mAh battery, supporting both 33W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, remaining consistent with the previous model. In terms of software, the Nothing Phone (2) operates on Nothing OS 2.0, which is based on the latest Android 13 platform. The updated software introduces a range of new features including widgets, theme colors, folder layouts, and illustrated covers, enhancing the overall user experience.
Pricing and availability
The eagerly awaited Nothing Phone (2) is now open for pre-orders in the United States. The phone will be available in two color options, white and dark grey. Pricing starts at $599 for the base model, which offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Additionally, there is a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant priced at $699, and a top-tier option with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage priced at $799. Open sales for the phone will commence on July 17, allowing customers to purchase the device directly.
