New smartphone series from Vivo promises affordability and high performance

Vivo has a reputation for producing budget-friendly smartphones that offer good value for money. Their devices often have competitive specifications and features compared to other budget smartphone brands.

TheTechOutlook has reported that Vivo is planning to release its own foldable smartphones, including the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip. The company is said to be launching the Vivo S17 series in the third quarter of 2023 in China, and the publication has already leaked some key details about the lineup well ahead of its launch.

Report leaks model numbers, key specs, and launch timeline for Vivo S17 series

As reported, the Vivo S17 series will be comprised of three models: Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro, and Vivo S17e, each with their own model numbers including V2283A, V2284A, and V2285A, respectively. It is expected that some of these devices will also be included in the Vivo V29 series, which will be available in markets outside of China.

Vivo S17 series key specifications

Although detailed specifications for the Vivo S17 lineup are not yet available, key specifications have been revealed by sources. All of the smartphones in the series will feature Super AMOLED panels with curved edges and colour-changing rear panels.

Additionally, the primary camera on the back will have optical image stabilization (OIS). The standart Vivo S17 devices will come with 8 GB or 12 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage, while the S17 Pro will have 16 GB of RAM. The series will also support virtual RAM.

When will we see the Vivo S17 series in the market?

According to the report, the Vivo S17 series is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of 2023 in China. Meanwhile, the Vivo Pad 2, Vivo X Fold 2, and Vivo X Flip are set to be released in April prior to the launch of the S17 series. It is also expected that the Vivo S17 series will be affordable compared to previous V series smartphones.
