New news from Huawei's budget-friendly phone

In recent developments, Huawei's forthcoming smartphone, mimicking the design reminiscent of the Mate 50 series, was granted certification by TENAA last month. This occurrence was followed by another notable listing on the portal, a smartphone bearing similarities to the P60 series. Notably, this text will primarily focus on exploring the specifications and details related to the Mate 50-inspired design model.

The Huawei smartphone, which shares aesthetic attributes with the Mate 50 series, is officially identified by the model number CTR-AL20. The specification details emerging from TENAA hint at a device that, while reflecting a design philosophy of a higher-end series, is embedded with budget-friendly technical specifications - similar, yet superior, to its P60-akin counterpart.

The CTR-AL20 promises to deliver a generous display size of 6.7 inches, featuring a centrally-located punch-hole and providing an FHD+ resolution that aggregates to 2388 × 1080 pixels. While it limits connectivity to 4G, an upgrade from its counterpart, the device incorporates a differently specified System on a Chip (SoC). This unidentified chipset is projected to offer an octa-core CPU with an enhanced speed, clocking in at 2.4GHz as opposed to the 2GHz.

In terms of memory and storage, prospective users can expect variations of 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options. The CTR-AL20 will employ Huawei’s proprietary operating system, HarmonyOS. The device also establishes itself in the imaging segment with a formidable 108MP primary camera, juxtaposed with the alternative device’s 50MP sensor, while retaining the 2MP secondary sensor and 8MP front camera. Additional features of the CTR-AL20 include the absence of a nano memory card slot and the inclusion of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Powering these capabilities is a moderately sized 4,900mAh battery.

At present, the official marketing name of Huawei’s CTR-AL20 and its eventual launch date remain concealed, awaiting future disclosure from the company.
