New information continues to come about Nothing Phone (2)
Nothing, one of the newest brands in the smartphone world, continues to work on its second generation smartphone model.
New information continues to come about Nothing Phone (2). Nothing, the innovative technology start-up, is set to unveil its second smartphone, the Nothing Phone (2), this summer. This model is set to be a strong contender in the high-end mid-range market. The Phone (2) will boast the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a significant upgrade from the Snapdragon 778G+ of its predecessor. Alongside this, the company has announced an expanded battery capacity and a larger display for the upcoming model, all the while emphasizing the sustainable practices incorporated into the device's production. It appears that the company's sustainability efforts have gone beyond the trend of removing chargers from the packaging.
The company announced via Twitter that the Phone (2) possesses an SGS-certified carbon footprint of 53.45kg. This is reported to be over 5 kg less than the carbon footprint of the previous model, an achievement the company takes pride in. Even with these improvements, the device manages a 200mAh increase in battery capacity and a 0.15" increase in screen size. Thus, the Phone (2) will feature a 6.7-inch display, likely an OLED variant, and a 4,700mAh battery.

Details regarding the charging capabilities of the Phone (2) remain uncertain, but the device will likely come without a charger. Many smartphone manufacturers, in an effort to be more environmentally friendly, have ceased including wall chargers and earbuds in their packaging. While critics may argue that this change benefits the companies financially rather than environmentally, the trend has been widely adopted since Apple initiated it. Following suit, Nothing removed the charger from the Phone (1) packaging and plans to continue this practice with the Phone (2).
The Phone (2), like its predecessor, is guaranteed three years of significant Android OS updates and four years of security updates. Nothing has also taken several additional steps to ensure the new device has a smaller environmental footprint.
