Motorola introduced the X40 5G in China towards the end of last year, equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The X40 5G is anticipated to be introduced globally as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and is positioned as the company's latest flagship smartphone.
Motorola is likely to announce the launch details soon and may reveal the Edge 40 Pro for international markets at the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Motorola Edge 40 Pro renders leaked, will share the same design with Moto X40
A report from Appuals has uncovered the design of the upcoming Motorola Edge 40 Pro. The renders show that it will come in two colors: black and blue. The design is similar to the Moto X40, with a curved back and a square-shaped camera island. The camera module displays an inscription indicating that the phone will have a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor.
The Motorola Edge 40 Pro smartphone features a circular cutout in the center of its curved display, and has minimal bezels on the top and bottom. The power and volume buttons are located on the right side of the device, which also has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The same report unveil the specifications of Motorola Edge 40 Pro. Accordingly, the Edge 40 Pro is said to have a 6.67-inch curved OLED display, with a Full HD+ resolution and a fast 165Hz refresh rate that also offers DC dimming.
The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and a 4,600mAh battery with quick 125W wired charging and 15W wireless charging options. The device is expected to run a custom OS based on Android 13 that offers a near-stock experience.
The Edge 40 Pro features a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS capability and additional 50-megapixel ultra-wide and 12-megapixel telephoto lenses for enhanced photography. For taking self-portraits, the device has a 60-megapixel front camera.

According to the anonymous reports, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is said to be offered with only one configuration of 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It is expected to be priced at around €850.
