The German camera maker Leica, partnered with Sharp and SoftBank to launch its first self-branded smartphone that is known as Leitz Phone 1 last year. Now, Leica has advanced the series today by unveiling a new smartphone, that is Leitz Phone 2. Here are all the details of Leica's latest smartphone.
Leitz Phone 2 specifications and price
The first Leitz Phone was based on Sharp Aquos R6, whereas today's Leitz Phone 2 is built on the Aquos R7, which has been launched this year. In the Leitz Phone 2, we see a highly advanced display. Leitz Phone 2 packs a Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2730x1260 pixels, 10-bit color depth, 240Hz refresh rate, and 2,000 nits peak brightness. By these features, the smartphone is able to offer an outstanding media and gaming experience.
Leica's latest flagship smartphone Leitz Phone 2 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. It also supports up to 1TB of additional storage thanks to a MicroSD card slot.
The most fascinating part of the smartphone can be traced in its optics. Leitz Phone 2 is equipped with 47.2MP 1-inch lens. Paired with a 1.9MP depth sensor, smartphone has a 12.6MP selfie lens on the front.
Having IP68 rating and 5.000mAh battery, the Leica Leitz Phone 2 is priced at $1,540. However, this smartphone will remain exclusive to the Japanese market.
