The smartphone world has been abuzz with the remarkable 200W fast charging featured in devices like the iQOO 10 Pro and iQOO 11 Pro. However, the winds of change seem to be blowing as whispers of the upcoming iQOO 12 Pro indicate a reduction in fast charging capabilities, down to 120W, which, while still rapid, is not quite the speed of 200W. Recent leaks suggest that Vivo and its sub-brand iQOO may be shifting their focus from ultra-fast charging to bolstering battery capacity.

According to insights from tipster Digital Chat Station, Vivo has decided to temporarily halt its 200W fast charging project. Instead, they are gearing up to introduce a 120W/100W fast charging system, accompanied by a substantial battery boasting around 6,000mAh capacity. Specialized high-density batteries are also in the works.

Reports have already divulged information about the battery size and charging capabilities of the iQOO 12 and 12 Pro. It's worth noting that the aforementioned leak may not directly relate to the iQOO 12 series, but rather hints at a broader shift in Vivo and iQOO's smartphone strategies.

Speculations suggest that the iQOO 12 will house a 5,000mAh battery, while the 12 Pro will step up with a 5,100mAh power source. Both devices are set to support 120W fast charging, with the 12 Pro also adding 50W wireless charging into the mix. Besides these charging changes, both models are expected to feature a 144Hz AMOLED display, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and impressive 50-megapixel triple rear cameras. The iQOO 12 series is anticipated to make its debut on November 7 in China, ushering in these notable changes in the smartphone landscape.
