iQOO 12 camera details are becoming clear
New details regarding the iQOO 12 developed by Chinese tech company iQOO continue to emerge.
As 2023 draws to a close, iQOO, an offshoot of Vivo, is prepping for the launch of its much-anticipated iQOO 12 smartphone series. Jia Jingdong, Vivo’s Vice President, has tantalizingly described the upcoming iQOO 12 series as the “performance champion,” signaling significant performance upgrades that smartphone enthusiasts can eagerly await.
Recent leaks from the online community, notably from Weibo tipster Lee Ang-aung, point toward the inclusion of a unique feature in the iQOO 12: a periscope-style telephoto camera. This type of camera is generally reserved for premium models due to its cost implications. If these speculations hold, the iQOO 12 could pioneer the integration of such a camera in a standard edition smartphone. However, intricate specifications of the lens remain under wraps for now.

Interestingly, there's talk about a deviation in iQOO's display strategy. While earlier models, like the iQOO 11, flaunted a 2K screen, the upcoming iQOO 12 is rumored to sport a 1.5K resolution display. This change is believed to strike a balance between display quality and battery consumption. Despite some sources hinting at the continuity of the 2K display, prevailing reports lean towards the adoption of a 1.5K resolution.
Performance-wise, speculations are rife that the iQOO 12 will house Qualcomm's imminent flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Manufactured via the TSMC N4P process, this chipset will spotlight the Adreno 750 GPU and the avant-garde Cortex-X4 super core. These inclusions aim to usher in a performance boost of around 15%. On the camera front, the phone might carry a 50MP primary shooter, while offering RAM configurations up to 16GB and storage variants from 512GB to a whopping 1TB. Preliminary design leaks suggest a flat-screen, coupled with a unique frameless Deco design for its rear lens module. As for charging speeds, there's an ongoing debate between 100W and 200W capabilities. Yet, considering the benchmarks set by iQOO 11S with its 200W charging, the iQOO 12 might very well exceed these expectations.
