iPhone 15 series might bring longer battery life via A17 Bionic chip
iPhone 15 lineup is reported to feature longer battery life through Apple A17 chip.
The upcoming iPhone 15 series is frequently mentioned on the news. A new report provides additional information regarding the battery life of the iPhone 15 series, and it was recently reported that Apple is considering offering the new phones at a price that is significantly lower compared to iPhone 14 series. Let's see all the details known so far.
The Apple A17 chip to power iPhone 15 series is reported to be 35% more energy efficient
The smaller 3nm process technology is expected to be used by Apple for the A17 Bionic chip. Compared to the A15 Bionic chip that was based on the 5nm process from the year before, the current A16 Bionic chip uses TSMC's 4nm process, which offers improved efficiency and performance.
However, the new Apple A17 chips will be way more efficient thanks to 3nm process. This new process will enable iPhone 15 series to be 35% more energy efficient, as a new report suggest.
Furthermore, it is said that only the iPhone 15 Pro and other high-end models in the lineup will benefit from the Apple A17 chip. Therefore, this energy efficiency feature will be specific to high-end iPhone 15 models.
The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models will reportedly be powered by the Apple A16 chip produced in 2022.
