A new feature has arrived in the brand new Apple's iPhone 14 series introduced last year. This feature, called crash detection, was designed to save users in an existing crash, but it seems that this feature also causes some problems. In the event of an accident, such as a car accident, the emergency function can save the user's life. In Japan, however, it appears that the Crash Detection system is causing problems.

The Internal Affairs and Communications Ministry's Fire and Disaster Management Agency has asked smartphone owners to be extra careful when using the crash detection feature on their devices because there has been a recent rise in the number of automated emergency calls made when help is not actually required. Due to these false alarms, fire departments near skiing areas, such as the Fire Department of Kita-Alps Nagano and the Gujo City Fire Department, have reported an increase in emergency calls. The Fire Department of Kita-Alps Nagano received 919 emergency calls between December 16 and January 23, 134 of which were false calls made by the Crash Detection feature in skiing areas. Similarly, from January 1 to January 23, the Gujo City Fire Department received 351 emergency calls, 135 of which were false alarms.
