iPhone 13 broke a record! Topped all shipments
Apple's previous iPhone series iPhone 13 has topped all shipments in India for the first time in a quarter.
Smartphone demand and delivery problems were reported in some regions. In this context, especially the Indian market is experiencing difficulties. Smartphone shipments in India decreased by 11% year-over-year to reach over 45 million units in the third quarter of 2022 (July-September). This is the first decline for a third quarter and is said to be caused by the lower consumer demand for entry-level and budget products in the quarter and the rising demand for Q3 2021.

According to the recent reports, Apple's aggressive channel push prior to the holiday season resulted in its highest-ever smartphone market share of 5% during the quarter. For the first time in a quarter, the iPhone 13 topped all smartphones sold in India. In the premium category Apple dominated smartphone sales with a 40 percent share. Despite the fact that Xiaomi saw a 19% YoY decline, the company continued to dominate the country's market. According to the report, the entry-level consumer demand is to blame for this. In Q3 2022, Samsung ranked second and was the only brand in the top five to experience annual growth.
Despite a 15% decrease in shipments year over year, Vivo maintained its third-place position in the market during the quarter thanks to its budget-friendly Y01 and Y15 models, updates to the V series, and expansion of its online presence with the IQOO and T-series smartphones. Realme remained in fourth place in Q3 2022 with a share of 14%, while the OPPO smartphone fell to fifth place with a 7% YoY decline.
