Several leading Chinese smartphone brands have ventured into the foldable phone market, aiming to diversify their offerings across various price points. Among them, Huawei's Pocket S flip phone, which launched in November 2022, has stood out as one of the more wallet-friendly options. Now, fresh details have emerged regarding Huawei's future plans in this space.

A tip from Revegnus, a well-known informant, suggests that Huawei is now crafting an entry-level foldable phone. This new addition, purportedly under the P Pocket branding, is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2024, carrying a price tag of roughly $735 or perhaps even less.

However, it remains ambiguous whether this pricing pertains to its debut in China or its global introduction. Drawing parallels to its predecessor, the Huawei Pocket S, it's plausible that this forthcoming model will be available in a variety of hues.

In a related development, Samsung, another industry titan, is reportedly on a parallel track. Though specific details are scant, the same source hinted at a potential affordable foldable device, possibly dubbed the “Galaxy Z FE”, from the South Korean giant. This device might see a grand reveal alongside its siblings, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, around August 2024.
