Huawei explained how difficult it was to produce a flagship phone
Chinese tech giant Huawei has been having some hard time for the past couple years.
Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, recently spoke with Chinese media about the difficulties the company encountered when producing the Huawei Mate 50 series. Yu revealed that major supply chain flaws and a lack of chip supplies made the manufacturing process challenging. The team was able to overcome these obstacles and put the flagship into production.

Yu discussed the internal challenges the company faced. He was told by someone within the company that the Mate 50 would not succeed because of the high cost and restrictions on gathering the necessary technologies. Yu, on the other hand, was determined to see the product succeed.
Mate 50 series is not the only 4G phone that the company has been restricted from releasing since the U.S. restrictions of last year. Overall, Yu expressed confidence in the Mate 50 series, stating that if it did not perform well, he would be "very sad," but he is pleased with its performance thus far. However, Yu stated that Huawei has improved 4G performance, and WiFi 6 technology helps fill the gap left by the absence of 5G. The Mate 50 series has a lot of high-end features, like XMAGE imaging technologies and high-resolution pictures, even though it doesn't have 5G.
