HTC announces comeback with new smartphone set to launch in 2023
HTC has teased the release of a new smartphone that will be built alongside the VIVERSE platform.
HTC's focus on smartphones has waned in recent years, and the company even sold a part of its mobile business to Google five years ago to focus on other areas. While it has released niche phones like the HTC Desire 22 Pro metaverse phone in the past year, it has not been a major player in the smartphone market.
However, HTC has now teased the release of a new smartphone in 2023, suggesting that the company is not entirely out of the phone game yet.
HTC teases upcoming u-series smartphone joining Its 'Viverse' lineup
HTC has started teasing the release of its upcoming smartphone, which will be built alongside the VIVERSE platform. The VIVERSE platform, created by HTC Vive, offers a virtual reality metaverse that promises to provide users with an immersive and limitless world of experiences.
In an attempt to expand its platform, HTC introduced its first VIVERSE-enabled smartphone, the Desire 22 Pro, last year. Although the Desire 22 Pro appeared to be a typical mid-range phone, it came equipped with several VR-related applications.
It is expected that HTC will follow a similar strategy with its upcoming smartphone, which is teased in a video showcasing its exterior design and HTC and VIVERSE branding.
