Honor X50 appears to draw inspiration from Mate X5 this time
The X50, developed by Chinese tech company Honor, seems to be drawing its design inspiration from Mate X5.
Honor is in the spotlight again with its ongoing development of a refreshed model for the Honor X50 smartphone. This updated version is being termed as a “facelift” of its predecessor. Essentially, this implies that while the phone will have slight aesthetic modifications, its core features and specs will remain unchanged.
Insight from industry expert, Digital Chat Station, suggests that the face of the new Honor X50 will mirror its original, sporting a curved display and a center-located punch-hole cutout catering to selfie enthusiasts. However, turning the phone reveals a distinct change. The rear design is influenced by Huawei's latest foldable device, the Mate X5. This means that the phone will sport a cutting-edge circular camera module, which is a marked difference from the original model's ring-shaped camera configuration.

In terms of internal specifications, the upgraded model stays true to its roots. It boasts a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1.5K pixels, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and a brisk 120Hz refresh rate. A Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor powers the device. It's also packed with up to 16GB RAM and offers a substantial 512GB internal storage. For photography aficionados, the primary 108MP sensor is sure to delight, complemented by a 2MP secondary sensor. Selfies will be captured by an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone will be available in a rich palette of colors, including Elegant Black, Sunshine Rain, Brown Blue, and Burning Orange. However, it’s anticipated that Honor may introduce a few more color variants exclusive to the new model. For those looking at price points, the Honor X50 is priced starting from CNY 1,399 (195$) in its mainland market, China.
