Honor V Purse breaks boundaries with outward folding design and jaw-dropping thinness
The Honor V Purse is breaking boundaries with its innovative outward folding design and remarkably thin profile, redefining the concept of foldable smartphones.
Honor has introduced its latest foldable device in China, the Honor V Purse, which was initially unveiled at IFA in Berlin earlier this month. True to its name, the V Purse is designed with a strong fashion focus and can be worn as a fashion accessory, offering "unlimited opportunities for self-expression." However, it's essential to note that it does not function as a traditional purse and cannot store items inside.

The Honor V Purse distinguishes itself from conventional foldable phones by folding outward instead of inward. When folded, it maintains a slim profile, measuring only 8.6mm thick, resembling the form factor of standard flat smartphones. Honor assures that the hinge is durable, capable of withstanding 400,000 folds. The device comes with interchangeable straps and chains to personalize its appearance, using vegan leather material for the straps.
This innovative device features a 6.45-inch main screen with a resolution of 2348×1088 pixels. When unfolded, it expands to 7.7 inches, offering a resolution of 2348×2016 pixels. Both displays utilize flexible OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The Honor V Purse incorporates an Always-on display with a range of interactive and interchangeable wallpapers designed to complement the user's outfit, with collaborations with various artists to create these styles, mimicking the appearance of a handbag.
In terms of photography, the Honor V Purse sports a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP main sensor paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. It also includes an 8MP front-facing selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Honor V Purse is powered by a Snapdragon 778G processor and offers 16GB of RAM and storage options up to 512GB. It is backed by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 35W fast charging. Software-wise, it runs on MagicOS 7.1, based on Android T.
The Honor V Purse is available in two variants: the 16GB + 256GB version starting at CNY 5,999 and the 16GB + 512GB configuration priced at CNY 6,599. Pre-bookings have commenced, with sales starting from September 26. The device is offered in Camellia Gold, Glacier Blue, and Elegant Black color options.
