Honor Play 50 Plus is released
The Play 50 Plus model, known to have been developed by Honor for some time, has finally seen the light of day.
Honor, an esteemed player in the smartphone market, has recently introduced a new entry-level 5G smartphone, the Honor Play 50 Plus, to the Chinese market. With a commendable blend of enhanced features and forward-thinking technology, this device particularly stands out for its 90Hz LCD screen, a robust 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup, a generous RAM offering of up to 12 GB, storage that peaks at 256 GB, and a notably substantial 6,000mAh battery. This new offering succeeds last year's Honor Play 40 Plus.
Navigating through the distinctive features of the Honor Play 50 Plus, users are greeted with a 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel, complemented by a sleek punch-hole design. The Full HD+ resolution, clocking in at 1080 x 2400 pixels, pairs seamlessly with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 20:09 aspect ratio, all while boasting up to 850 nits of brightness. Furthermore, the device comes equipped with Magic OS 7.2, based on Android 13, preinstalled for users to explore.

Beneath the surface, the Honor Play 50 Plus is powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset, promising reliable performance for users. Accompanying the chipset is a 6,000mAh battery, offering 35W rapid charging capabilities to ensure users can stay connected with minimized downtime. For those needing an efficient multitasking experience and ample space for their files, the device is available with up to 12 GB of RAM and a storage capacity reaching up to 256 GB.
When it comes to capturing moments, the Play 50 Plus doesn’t falter. The front of the device hosts an 8-megapixel camera, while the rear setup boasts a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an LED flash. To enhance user experience, other integrated features include dual speakers with Hi-Res audio support, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, dual SIM capabilities, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB-C port. All these features are encapsulated in a device that measures 166.7 x 76.5 x 8.24mm and has a weight of 199 grams.
The Honor Play 50 Plus is available in different variants to cater to varied user needs, such as the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, with the latter pricing at 1,399 Yuan (~$195). To add a touch of personal flair, the phone is available in several elegant shades including Magic Night Black, Mo Yuqing (green), Star Purple, and Streaming Silver.
