Honor 80 GT is announced: 54MP main camera and SD 8 Gen 1+
Another member of the Honor 80 family with a GT designation was recently announced by Honor. Due to its use of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, the Honor 80 GT appears to be significantly more comparable to the Honor 80 Pro than the vanilla model. The 80 GT has a smaller, 6.67-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels than the 80 Pro, but it still has 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3, 1,400 nits of peak brightness, and, of course, a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The 256GB of storage and 12GB or 16GB of RAM accompany the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. We know that the global version of this phone will have different storage configurations, but we won't know for sure until further notice.
Particularly intriguing is the back camera setup. The device settles for the less-than-ideal 8MP, f/2.2 camera for the ultrawide, while the main shooter utilizes the rare Sony IMX800 54MP, 1/1.49" sensor and f/1.9 aperture. The menu includes yet another dedicated macro snapper with 2MP. The 16MP front camera has an f/2.4 aperture.
