Google Pixel 8 series will come with eSIM only in some regions
Having become one of the significant names in the smartphone world, Google will take a significant step with its Pixel 8 series.
As the tech world anticipates the release of Google Pixel 8, successor to the Pixel 7, rumors and leaks are making the rounds. Recent whispers hint towards a probable launch by the end of October 2023. One notable leak recently brought to light the renders of both the Google Pixel 8 and its Pro variant.
A distinct feature observed in the renders shared by OnLeaks was the apparent absence of a SIM tray. This observation was highlighted by Mishaal Rahman. In comparison, previous devices like the Pixel 6 and 7 had clear SIM card slots on the left. This new revelation might hint at an eSIM-only device for the Pixel 8, at least in certain regions. To give a broader perspective, the eSIM technology is predominantly used by the iPhone in the US. However, Rahman advises caution, suggesting that these renders might not capture all the details. Contrary to this, another source, Za_Raczke, did showcase the SIM tray situated on the left of the device.

Diving into the rumored specifications of the Pixel 8, it is believed to sport a 50MP primary camera, complemented by a 64MP IMX787 ultra-wide-angle lens, optimizing the photography experience. Powering the device might be Google's indigenous Tensor G3 chip. Additionally, it is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2992 x 1344 pixels. The storage variants speculated are 128GB and 256GB. An innovative feature rumored to debut with Pixel 8 is the "Audio Magic Eraser." This functionality is designed to eliminate undesired background noises from videos, a first in the realm of smartphones.
