The scorecard analysis reveals that the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset (MT6769V/CZ) lies at the heart of the Samsung Galaxy A05 performance, marking a notable advancement over its predecessor, the Galaxy A04, which employed the Helio P35. Although both chips are manufactured using a 12nm process, the G85 showcases a significant enhancement with its two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, accompanied by six A55 cores at 1.8GHz, in contrast to the Helio P35's eight Cortex-A53 cores. This configuration results in a twofold increase in single-threaded performance, elevating the efficacy of multi-threaded tests. Furthermore, the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU outshines the PowerVR GE8320 GPU, boasting over a twofold improvement in performance.
This specific iteration of the Galaxy A05 came outfitted with a respectable 4GB RAM, a commendable specification within its category, whereas its predecessor, the A04, offered variations with both 3GB and 4GB RAM. Notably, this RAM capacity proves ample to smoothly operate the full-featured Android OS (version 13 in this instance), without necessitating a downgrade to the Go Edition. Although official details regarding the phone are yet to be confirmed, considering the previous release timeline of the Galaxy A04 and A04s in late August, coupled with the ongoing certification activities, the imminent launch of the Galaxy A05 appears imminent.
