For 2023 flagships, Oppo promises four OS updates and five years of security patches

OPPO has rolled up its sleeves to offer updates and security pacthes for its popular devices. Let's take a look.

ColorOS 13 was presented on August 18 and Oppo's concentrated endeavors to convey it to existing telephones made for the quickest rollout out of any ColorOS variant yet. However, Oppo will be expanding software support for select flagship models beginning in 2023.

For specific premium models, the plan is to provide four OS updates and five years of security patches. This matches the responsibility OnePlus made recently. Samsung was the first company to provide this update schedule, which it extended to its flagship models from 2021. With only three operating system updates and five years of patches, Google is embarrassingly behind. 

When it comes to the current version of the operating system, ColorOS 13 has been made available to 33 Oppo models across the globe—more than any other version before it (50 percent more than ColorOS 12, for instance). This has permitted it to arrive at multiple times a bigger number of clients than ColorOS 12 did during the initial four months in the wake of uncovering (October 11-February 11 for v12, August 18 to December 18 for v13).
