The Qualcomm Adreno 740, which has been shown in recent benchmarks to be more powerful than the GPU in the Apple A16 Bionic, will be packed in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The latest Geekbench Vulkan test hints at a contentious competition between Samsung and Apple.

The Adreno 740 has a score of 10744 on Vulkan, according to the most recent benchmarks on Geekbench, with an average score of 9844. The Galaxy S23 Ultra's Adreno 740 average score is a significant improvement over the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Adreno 730 featuring average score of 6233.

Adreno 740 vs Apple A16

Thus, it can expected that Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a GPU that is up to 58% more powerful than the previous generation Adreno 730. In addition, new scores show that the Adreno 740 can even surpass the Apple A16 Bionic, which is packed in iPhone 14 Pro.

To recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Adreno 730 were manufactured by Samsung using the 4 nm 4LPE process. However, Qualcomm moved the production of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to TSMC due to the problems observed in Samsung's process.
