Dimensity 9300's release date is confirmed
Following the introduction of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the once-popular Dimensity 9300 now makes headlines with its release date.
In a recent announcement, MediaTek has teased tech enthusiasts with news of launching its next premier mobile chipset on November 6. While its official name remains under wraps, there's speculation that it could be christened the Dimensity 9300, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Dimensity 9200. Preliminary glimpses of the D9300's prowess have been evidenced through its listings on popular benchmarking platforms such as AnTuTu and Geekbench.
MediaTek has kept the full technical specifications of the Dimensity 9300 close to its chest. However, leaked reports suggest a departure from the usual balance of performance and efficiency cores, with the new chipset leaning heavily towards performance. Details from AnTuTu indicate the inclusion of four Cortex X4 cores, four substantial Cortex A720 cores, and the Immortalis G720 MC12 GPU. Moreover, akin to its predecessor, the D9300 is expected to support LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Performance metrics from AnTuTu are especially noteworthy. A test device equipped with the D9300 chipset, alongside 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, a 120Hz refresh rate display, and running on Android 14, managed to clock the highest-ever score on the platform with an impressive 2,055,084 points. This cumulative score is a combination of CPU, GPU, memory, and UX tests, wherein the device racked up scores of 485,064, 899,463, 357,691, and 312,866 points in each category, respectively.
In related news, it's anticipated that Vivo will introduce the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro smartphones by the latter half of November. Among these, the X100 Pro+ is creating buzz due to its reported use of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a speculated launch in early 2024.
Additionally, an Oppo device identified by the model number PHZ110 was discovered in Geekbench's database. This D9300-imbued device, accompanied by 16 GB RAM and Android 14, recorded scores of 2139 and 7110 in Geekbench 6's single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Rumor mills suggest that this model might be launched as the Oppo Find X7 by the onset of 2024.
