In October of the previous year, Honor introduced the Honor Play 40, powered by the Dimensity 700, to the Chinese market. Fast forward to today, and the tech company has confirmed its plans to unveil the successor. Based on the promotional material disseminated by Honor, we have a glimpse into both its design and essential features.

The Honor Play 50 Plus is set to sport a punch-hole display. Its side-mounted fingerprint scanner suggests that this model might be furnished with an LCD panel. Additionally, the brand has highlighted that this new model will offer dual speakers, enhancing the audio experience with stereo output.

When it comes to photography, the device's back houses a dual-camera setup. The primary camera boasts a 50-megapixel sensor. The rear design stands out with a unique two-toned finish: the camera section shines in silver, set against a wavy-patterned blue backdrop.

While it's evident that the Honor Play 50 Plus will support 5G connectivity, details about its processor remain undisclosed. However, we do know that the phone will be packed with 12 GB of RAM, offer 256 GB of internal storage, and be powered by a hefty 6,000mAh battery. Furthermore, the 3C certification of the device has hinted at the possibility of 35W fast charging support. Information regarding the rest of the phone's specifications is awaited.

Drawing a comparison with its predecessor, the Honor Play 40 Plus, it featured a 6.74-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device was powered by the Dimensity 700 chip, offered variations of 6 GB and 8 GB RAM, had 128 GB storage, and came with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 22.5W fast charging. It was also fitted with a 5-megapixel front camera and a dual-camera system on the back, comprising a 50-megapixel primary and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone operated on the Magic UI-based Android 12, complemented by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
