In a recent development, Asus has confirmed that its upcoming ROG Phone 8 series, a new addition to its line of gaming phones, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This announcement, made in October, has been followed by various certification sightings, indicating that the launch of the ROG Phone 8 series is drawing near. Notably, one of the variants of the ROG Phone 8 has appeared in the databases of Geekbench and China’s 3C certification platform. Furthermore, the series has received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority, signaling its readiness for the market.

In addition to the ROG Phone 8 series, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has also been certified by the Bluetooth SIG platform. This certification is a significant step forward for both product lines. The ROG Phone 8, identified with model numbers such as ASUS_AI2401_D, ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_E, has been approved, suggesting a range of models under this series. Similarly, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, with model numbers including ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_F, has also received certification.

The AI2401_A variant of the ROG Phone 8 series, which was spotted on Geekbench, is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and runs Android 14. It was also seen with a 65W fast charger in China’s 3C certification. The AI2401_D variant, on the other hand, has been noted for its impressive 24 GB of RAM on Geekbench. This suggests that Asus might market one of these high-spec variants, possibly the one with 24 GB of RAM, as the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate.

Regarding the Zenfone series, there were rumors in August suggesting that the Zenfone 10 might be the last of its kind. However, Asus quickly dispelled these rumors by confirming the continuation of the Zenfone series. The recent sighting of the Zenfone 11 Ultra, bearing the model number ASUS_AI2401_H, further supports this commitment. This indicates that the Zenfone 11 lineup may include more than one model under its banner. However, specific details about the Zenfone 11 series remain undisclosed.

All the aforementioned devices, as per the Bluetooth SIG certification, are expected to support Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The ROG Phone 8 series is anticipated to launch in different markets in the first quarter of 2024.
