Over the past few months, numerous malware attacks have come to light. Recently, Apple released an operating system update for the iPhone and iPad to address a flaw that hackers were actively using against users.

The organization takes issues of this nature extremely seriously, therefore it is encouraging to see them being resolved fast.
The researcher who found the vulnerability made the decision to remain anonymous, and Citizen Lab was essential in helping Apple recognize and address the problem. The work of this digital rights research team, based at the Munk School of the University of Toronto, has long been recognized for its attempts to draw attention to the NSO Group's use of hacking tools provided by the government.
