Apple will continue to support iPhone 5s and earlier models
Apple recently released iOS 12.5.7, macOS 11.7.3, and other updates for older devices and operating systems. These updates address issues with iOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura, which are still supported by users on older devices and operating systems. At least 14 distinct systems that are impacted by the security issue and have already been patched are listed in the security patch notes.
The iPhone 5s, which was released in September 2013, is the oldest device that is supported by iOS 12.5.7. The 2013 MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Pro are the oldest Macs that are compatible with macOS Big Sur. Users who are unable to upgrade to the most recent version will benefit from these updates.
