Apple iPhone 14 Pro shipments are in trouble
Due to protests at Foxconn's main factory in China, shipments of Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models will be significantly lower than anticipated by the market in the fourth quarter of this year, according to a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The workers' demonstrations against unfavorable working conditions have had a significant impact on the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou, China. According to him, this will have a negative impact of approximately 20%, or 70-75 million units, on the forecasted shipments for the fourth quarter of 2022.
He adds that the factory's average capacity utilization rate in November was only 20%, but that it is expected to rise to between 30% and 40% in December. He thinks that this quarter's iPhone revenue could be "significantly lower than the market consensus by 20-30% or more" due to production issues.
