Apple introduces the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus: Here are the features and price!
The tech world has eagerly anticipated the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, and they're now unveiled.
At Apple's recent Wonderlust fall event, the tech behemoth from Cupertino introduced the next generation of its iconic products, including the iPhone 15. This latest model brings significant changes, especially when compared to the iPhone 11 launched in 2019. Apple continues to differentiate the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus from the Pro variants. Unlike the preceding iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 15 models are enhanced with a plethora of new specifications.
The designs of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus remain consistent with the boxy aesthetic that fans have come to love, including familiar button placements. Yet, a slight alteration is noticeable on the rear, with the square camera module being slightly elevated. Another notable change is the frosted glass back panel, a premium feature previously exclusive to the Pro models. On the front, these phones incorporate the Dynamic Island, initially seen on last year's iPhone 14 Pro series. Display-wise, the iPhone 15 boasts a 6.1-inch Retina XDR OLED, while the 15 Plus comes with a larger 6.7-inch screen. Both deliver an impressive peak brightness of 2,000 nits.

Camera advancements are evident in both the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. They now feature a 48MP primary camera with a Sony sensor, a substantial leap from the iPhone 14's 12MP. Accompanying this is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, complemented by a 2x telephoto option. For selfies, a 12MP front camera is incorporated. What's more, users can effortlessly achieve professional-looking portraits; the machine learning tech automatically adds depth when a subject is in the frame.
Performance enhancements are also at the forefront. The iPhone 15 series is powered by the A16 Bionic processor, an upgrade from the iPhone 14 which had the same chip as the iPhone 13. Alongside this, they come with 6GB RAM and storage options that go up to 512GB. While Apple remains tight-lipped about the exact battery specs, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus reportedly offer 26 and 20 hours of usage, respectively.
On the software front, these iPhones come pre-loaded with iOS 17. A notable change is the inclusion of a USB-C port, moving away from the traditional lightning connector. Additionally, there's an improved second-generation Ultrawide-band chip enhancing the "Find My" capabilities, coupled with enhanced Emergency SOS functionalities. In terms of aesthetics, they are available in an array of colors: Pink, Green, White, Black, Yellow, and Blue. As for pricing, the iPhone 15 starts at $799 and the 15 Plus at $899, with availability from September 22.
