Apple faces the biggest iPhone factory to lockdown
China locks down the largest Apple iPhone factory for seven days. Having the biggest company under lockdown might have some outcomes.
We have been intertwined with the concept of quarantine since our coronavirus life. In this context, drastic measures continue to be taken, especially in China. Apple will also be among the companies that have problems within the scope of these measures.
Apple faces the biggest iPhone factory to lockdown
Foxconn Technology has its largest iPhone plant in a region where China has recently ordered a seven-day lockdown. Given that Apple's largest supplier's main plant will be down for a week, this will probably have an impact on shipments. A report from BusinessStandard says that the Chinese government has put a lockdown on the main iPhone plant that Foxconn has in Zhengzhou.
The lockdown, which is currently in effect, will continue until November 9, 2022. The government currently prohibits all vehicles, with the exception of those transporting essential supplies, from operating in the lockdown zone. The 200,000 employees of the Taiwanese company, which is the largest supplier in Apple's supply chain, have been quarantined. In addition, some were forced to leave the location, some even leaving on foot. The company will also face difficulties recruiting and hiring new employees following this lockdown. Apple had already had some problems in production with the iPhone 14. Now we can say that with the addition of the aforementioned problem, the situation will become more complicated.
