More information keeps coming about the A79 5G model developed by Oppo.
Oppo, renowned for its innovative smartphones, is gearing up to release a fresh entrant in its mid-range A series – the Oppo A79 5G. The buzz surrounding this device grew when it was spotted on a slew of online databases, notably NBTC, TUV IMDA, FCC, and TUV Rheinland. The Camera FV5 website also mentioned the A79 5G. Given that Oppo unveiled the A78 5G earlier this year, it's anticipated that the A79 5G will act as its successor. The NBTC listing validated the A79 5G name, referencing it with the model number CPH2557.
Further information from IMDA and TUV Rheinland certifications provided a glimpse into the device's specifics. One standout feature is its impressive battery – a 4,880mAh pack, likely marketed as 5,000mAh, supporting 33W fast charging. Furthermore, its dimensions were revealed, measuring 165.61×76.02×7.99mm and weighing in at 193 grams. This upcoming device will feature the Android 13 OS paired with ColorOS 13.1 right out of its package.

In terms of connectivity, the A79 5G is equipped to support 5G, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and NFC. The Camera FV5 database shed light on its camera capabilities, boasting a 50-megapixel primary camera which will capture at a 12.5-megapixel resolution. This primary camera also comes with an f/1.8 aperture, complemented by an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. However, specifics regarding its processor and storage remain under wraps.
