The Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which often presented pleasant news recently, now brings a tidbit that could sadden smartphone enthusiasts.

A frustrating aspect of Huawei Mate 60 Pro has been revealed

The YouTube channel PBKreviews, renowned for its gadget teardown videos, recently delved into the Huawei Mate 60 Pro. This model from Huawei has garnered significant attention and controversy, given that it's the first flagship phone the company launched after being enlisted on the US Entity List in 2019. As a result of this listing, Huawei faced restrictions and couldn't procure specific components from US suppliers, including Qualcomm chips.

However, against the odds, Huawei presented the Mate 60 Pro equipped with a 7nm chipset capable of 5G connectivity. The PBKreviews video provided a detailed look at the phone's interior, revealing SK Hynix RAM chips situated above the HiSilicon Kirin 9000s chipset.

The presence of these chips raised eyebrows since SK Hynix stated they haven't made any sales to Huawei since 2020, prompting the company to initiate an investigation regarding the matter.

Furthermore, the video disclosed the Mate 60 Pro's display structure, which appeared to be challenging to disassemble. Despite the robustness of its Kunlun 2 glass, as seen in PBKreviews' drop test, the 6.82″ LTPO AMOLED display suffered irreparable harm during its removal. This observation hints at the screen being tightly glued, implying potential high costs and complexities for future replacements. Concluding the teardown, the phone received a repairability score of 5 out of 10, indicating its moderate ease of repair.
