As reported by 91mobiles, On April 24, in Thiruvilwamala, Thrissur, Kerala, India, an eight-year-old girl named Adithyashree tragically lost her life when a mobile phone, identified as a Redmi Note 5 Pro, exploded in her hand. The incident occurred at 10:30 pm (local time), and forensic experts have determined that the device was not charging at the time of the accident.
Ashok Kumar, the father of the deceased child, has stated that his daughter and grandmother were present at home when the incident took place. According to the grandmother's account to the police, the child was playing a game on her mobile phone while lying under a blanket.
The grandmother had gone to the kitchen to get food, and upon returning, heard a loud explosion. She then found her granddaughter lying in a pool of blood. However, there are also claims that the explosion may have occurred while the child was watching videos on her phone for an extended period of time.
The reason why phone exploded is unknown
The local police are currently conducting an active investigation into the incident and are working to ascertain the cause of the malfunction in the mobile phone.
