A study conducted in China revealed that social interactions play an important role in extending the lifespan of older adults. The research took place in Sichuan University West China Hospital. Participants took periodic surveys during the study and answered a series of questions, including questions about their social interactions. The researchers compared the age at which older people who said they had never socialized died, with the age at which others died.
As a result, it was revealed that death was delayed by 42 percent in those who socialized occasionally, and by 48 percent in those who socialized at least once a month. Similarly, those who did so at least once a week had a 110 percent delay compared to those who said they didn't socialize at all. Why do people live longer if they socialise is linked to feeling young and energized again.
