Xiaomi's new electric exercise bike received considerable acclaim
The tech giant Xiaomi, which knows no competition when it comes to product diversity, now presents us with its electric exercise bike.
Xiaomi, the prominent tech giant, unveiled the MIJIA Electric Exercise Bike in China via crowdfunding earlier in May. Following the successful crowdfunding campaign, this innovative fitness tool has now been introduced to the general market. Originally offered for a reduced price of 1,799 yuan ($249) during the crowdfunding stage, the MIJIA self-propelled electric bicycle now carries a price tag of 1,999 yuan ($277).
Designed for indoor workouts, the MIJIA electric bike offers a unique feature to keep your phone charged using the power generated while you pedal. It incorporates a built-in 20W dual-coil wireless fast charging system that transforms your pedaling effort into electrical energy, capable of powering mobile devices like smartphones. Xiaomi asserts that as users burn calories during their workout, their phone can simultaneously be charged. Once the bicycle's cadence hits or exceeds 60rpm, it can start charging a mobile phone. Additionally, the bike's generator can attain a maximum power output exceeding 50W when under full load.
The bike is also designed to cater to a variety of Xiaomi's smartphone models. It can deliver a maximum wireless charging power of up to 20W for the Xiaomi 12, MIX4, Xiaomi 11, and Xiaomi 10 series smartphones. It is equally capable of charging the Xiaomi 9 Pro and other smartphone brands supporting wireless charging. To ensure optimal charging, Xiaomi advises that the smartphone's case thickness should not surpass 3mm. Enhanced thermal performance and a higher output voltage than the input are possible due to the bike's inclusion of the SC8701 synchronous buck-boost control chip.
Adding to its unique attributes, the MIJIA electric exercise bike boasts 32 levels of resistance adjustment and employs a concealed all-inclusive flywheel design, safeguarding users from accidental burns or contact. Weighing in at 39.5kg, the bike can also be connected to air conditioners and water heaters. To keep users informed during their workout, the bike is equipped with an integrated central control screen, displaying data on calories burnt and cadence.
