An unusual attribute of the Q9 Plus is its dual space keys, a rarity in regular keyboards. The Q9 Plus has a sturdy and durable CNC aluminum body. This mechanical keyboard is furnished with two sets of keycaps: one tailored for macOS and another for Windows. This provision allows seamless switching between operating systems without the need to interchange the keycaps. The keyboard is also compatible with QMK / VIA open-source key change, empowering you to modify the keymap and program keys to suit your preferences.
The Q9 Plus features ergonomic OSA PBT ball caps for its keys. PBT, a plastic variant known to outlast ABS, typically used in keycaps, crafts these keycaps. The OSA keycaps are fashioned to be more ergonomic, offering a spherical shape for a more comfortable typing experience.
Three switch body options are available for the Keychron Q9 Plus mechanical keyboard: K Pro brown switch, red switch, and banana switch. These mechanical switches incorporate a spring that generates a clicking or clacking sound upon keypress. Further, the Q9 Plus supports hot-swapping and has south-facing RGB lighting effects. A stepless knob, located at the top-right corner of the keyboard, is available for volume adjustments.
The Keychron Q9 Plus is set to hit the Chinese market on July 4, with pricing details yet to be disclosed.
