The device developed by Nothing surprised everyone
After entering the smartphone market with Nothing Phone (1) and continuing with a second model, Nothing reminded everyone of itself with a rather intriguing charging device.
Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, has recently shared a video detailing the challenges faced with the unreleased Nothing Power (1) model. This device, a combination of a charger and power bank, was conceptualized to charge multiple devices simultaneously. Its transparent design aesthetic is reminiscent of Nothing Ear (2).
In the shared prototype video, the Power (1) showcased Nothing's signature transparent design, paired with a prominent Qi charging coil for wireless charging. Added to this were a USB-C and a USB-A port at its back, enabling the device to charge up to three gadgets at once. With its internal battery, the Power (1) could also double up as a power bank.

However, the journey of this ambitious product was not without its hurdles. The transparent plastic casing of the Power (1) was deemed not durable enough, especially against falls. Additionally, the integrated battery added a significant weight to the device. Temperature regulation emerged as a major concern during the Power (1)'s development, especially evident when charging devices both wirelessly and via USB.
Due to these challenges, particularly the issues with the housing and temperature control, the Nothing Power (1) never saw its commercial release. While Nothing did launch a high-speed GaN charger later on, it was noticeably less ambitious than the Power (1). Interestingly, Apple's AirPower charger faced a similar fate, undergoing delays and eventually being shelved by Apple.
