The highly anticipated Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, poised as the company's top-tier chipset tailored for the PC market, is generating considerable excitement. Following previous leaks, a recent report by Windows Report has unveiled the comprehensive specifications of Qualcomm's upcoming chipset, revealing a focus on substantial improvements.

The Snapdragon X Elite is centered around generative AI capabilities and will feature the Hexagon NPU, providing an impressive 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This marks a significant 55% boost in performance compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 SoC. The credit for this enhanced performance goes to the Snapdragon Oryon CPU, which not only bolsters power efficiency but also enhances productivity with its generative AI models.

Qualcomm is anticipated to make the official announcement of this new chipset at the Snapdragon Summit 2023. Built on a 4nm architecture, the processor boasts 12 high-performance cores, clocked at 3.8GHz, and a dual-core boost reaching 4.3GHz. It also includes the Qualcomm Adreno GPU with a formidable 4.6 TFLOPs and support for DX12 API. The chipset's LPDDR5x RAM offers a generous 42MB of total cache and a remarkable 136 GB/s memory bandwidth, capable of supporting up to 64GB of memory. This all culminates in a chipset that promises 50% improved performance, setting the stage for robust competition.
