Samsung's new super monitor goes on sale
Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, is introducing its new curved screen monitor to the US and EU markets.
Samsung recently unveiled the second generation of its innovative gaming monitor, the Samsung Odyssey Ark. Following the success of the Odyssey Ark launched in August 2022, this new iteration is now available for purchase in the US and EU markets.
Building upon its predecessor, the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen boasts a 1000R curvature 55-inch 4K mini-LED panel with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160. The VA panel is enhanced with a UL Glare Free matte finish, designed to minimize any distracting reflections. This state-of-the-art display provides a remarkable refresh rate of 165Hz, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 16:09 aspect ratio, and an impressive 600 nits of peak brightness.
One standout feature of this monitor is the Multi-View mode. This mode offers users the ability to display input from up to four distinct sources simultaneously by dividing the 55-inch screen into four sections. To facilitate the control of these multiple inputs, the monitor is equipped with a KVM switch.

Performance-wise, the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen is driven by the Neural Quantum Processor Ultra. This ensures support for FreeSync Premium Pro, VRR, Game Mode, and an Eye Saver Mode, providing gamers with an enhanced experience. For audio enthusiasts, the monitor is complemented with a 60W 2.2.2 channel speaker system that incorporates Adaptive Sound, Dolby Atmos, and Sound Dome Technology. Operating on the Tizen system, users can enjoy features like the SmartThings Hub, Multi-Device Experience, TV Plus, and integration with Microsoft 365. The added convenience of built-in voice assistants, including Alexa and Bixby, offers effortless monitor control.
On the connectivity front, the Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen provides Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 5, and an array of I/O ports such as Display Port Version 1.4, HDMI, USB ports, Ethernet, Wireless Display, and support for HDCP Version 2.2.
