Samsung's new gaming monitor to fulfill every gamer's dreams!
The new gaming monitor introduced by the South Korean tech giant Samsung could send a significant message to the company's competitors in the industry.
During CES 2023, Samsung revealed a stunning 49-inch curved gaming monitor dubbed the Odyssey OLED G9. At its debut, Samsung stated that the Quantum-Dot-OLED monitor boasts an impressive 5,120 x 1,440-pixel resolution and a rapid 240 Hz refresh rate.
Further specifications were unveiled during its January debut, including the monitor's VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, reflecting its ability to output 250 nits of full-area brightness and 400 nits at peak. Moreover, Samsung claimed the monitor offered a nearly instantaneous response time of 0.1 ms and would come pre-installed with Samsung’s Gaming Hub software.
While the grand launch of the monitor remains in the future, Samsung is continually sharing more features of this extraordinary gaming monitor. Recently, the brand disclosed that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor was crafted with a curvature of 1800R and offers an impressive response time of 0.03 ms (GtG).

The monitor supports Adaptive Sync and has earned AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification, ensuring minimized image tearing when paired with AMD graphics cards. Samsung's panel can achieve an astounding contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, assisted by the “Advanced Neo Quantum AI” processor, which works to analyze and enhance image quality.
As for connectivity, the Odyssey OLED G9 is equipped with DisplayPort 1.4, micro-HDMI 2.1, and HDMI 2.1 video inputs. Additional connectivity options include two USB 3.0 Type-A downstream ports and a USB Type-B upstream port. The monitor also offers built-in audio capabilities through 5W stereo speakers. Its adjustable stand allows for height adjustments up to 120mm and a tilt range from -2 to +15 degrees.
Samsung has yet to reveal the launch date or pricing for the Odyssey OLED G9 gaming monitor. Nevertheless, with most of its specifications already announced, we can eagerly anticipate its appearance on the market soon.
