Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag 2, an upgraded version of its renowned item tracker. Alongside this, the company has introduced several new products to the global market, including the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and the Buds FE. The SmartTag 2 is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 10th, promising to revolutionize the way we monitor our valuable possessions.

One of the standout features of the SmartTag 2 is its improved Compass View functionality, offering users directional arrows to pinpoint the location and distance of the SmartTag 2 relative to their position. This feature works seamlessly with UWB-supported Galaxy smartphones, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Enhancements to the SmartThings Find app make tracking SmartTag 2 devices even more convenient. Newly registered SmartTags seamlessly integrate into the app, and users can benefit from a new full-screen map view and an intuitive interface.

Battery life receives a significant boost with the introduction of Power Saving Mode, extending the SmartTag 2's operation to an impressive 700 days on a single charge. Even in Normal Mode, the device boasts a 50% increase in battery life, providing up to 500 days of tracking.

The SmartTag 2 boasts a sleek, redesigned look with a compact form factor and a robust ring-shaped structure. A metal loop addition allows users to attach accessories like clips and keyrings. With an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, the device is well-suited for tracking belongings in challenging environments.

While retaining popular features such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB capabilities, the SmartTag 2 also incorporates Augmented Reality (AR) Find technology. User consent and encryption ensure privacy and security.

Additionally, the device seamlessly integrates with SmartThings Station, serving as a constant device scanner to keep tabs on tagged items, even when you're on the move.
