After a flurry of leaks from various sources, Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Buds FE, marking the latest addition to its lineup of true wireless earbuds (TWS). This release follows the introduction of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in August 2022. The Galaxy Buds FE introduces a budget-friendly tier to the Galaxy earbuds family, offering a compelling option for consumers seeking affordable yet feature-packed audio solutions.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Buds FE harken back to the original Galaxy Buds while drawing inspiration from the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro for their charging case. The earbuds themselves feature a circular design with an ovular antenna/touch interface in the middle. On the outer side, two holes house the microphones. The ear-facing side includes two pogo pins for charging, a touch-sensitive sensor, an ear tip, and a speaker. Notably, the Buds FE reintroduce wingtips, a feature reminiscent of the original Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus. These wingtips are designed to enhance stability and comfort, with users having the option to switch between two different sizes. The earbuds also come with three sizes of ear tips for a personalized fit.

Despite their budget-tier positioning, the Galaxy Buds FE offer an array of features, including active noise cancellation (ANC). This is a standout feature, as even the main competition, the Pixel Buds A-Series, does not offer ANC. Other features include an Ambient Sound mode, Voice Assistant integration, Voice Wake-up functionality, easy pairing, Auto Switch between devices, and SmartThings Find with a Lost Mode to help locate misplaced earbuds.

In terms of battery life, the earbuds themselves provide up to nine hours of playback time when ANC is turned off, with approximately three hours less when ANC is enabled. The wired USB-C charging case extends the usage, offering 30 hours with ANC and 21 hours with ANC activated. Additionally, these earbuds come with an IPX2 rating, providing some level of water resistance.
