Red Magic's new gaming monitor is set to enchant gamers
Having earned admiration in the gaming world with its successive models, Red Magic now presents itself with a new monitor model.
Red Magic, at a prominent launch event in China, introduced the latest addition to its gaming smartphone lineup - the Red Magic 8S Pro. This smartphone is a powerful machine, sporting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and is notably the first phone to boast a whopping 24GB of RAM. The event also saw the unveiling of a new 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor, featuring a curved screen and a swift refresh rate of 240Hz.
The latest gaming monitor from Red Magic is laden with remarkable features. It features a 49-inch curved screen with a 32:9 ratio. The monitor strikes a balance between excessive and insufficient curvature with its 1800R curvature. Moreover, the monitor boasts a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels and comes with a TRUE BLACK 400 certification, capable of displaying deep blacks. The color gamut covers 99% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.

The monitor leverages Samsung’s QD-OLED (quantum dot OLED) technology, which has several notable benefits including high brightness and vibrant colors. When compared to other OLED panels, QD-OLED panels promise enhanced color richness and the ability to display a wider array of colors. The Red Magic monitor also boasts a high refresh rate of 240Hz and a quick response of 0.03ms, ensuring compatibility with FREE-SYNC and G-SYNC technologies designed to mitigate screen tearing and stuttering.
Two built-in 5W speakers and a noise-reduction microphone add to the monitor's functionality. As for connectivity, the new display features 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 DP 1.4, and 1 Type-C port that supports one-key projection and 90W reverse charging.
The monitor's impressive specifications make it a suitable option for gamers. However, Red Magic has not yet announced the monitor's pricing and availability, making it difficult to evaluate its potential value proposition.
