Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to deliver unprecedented speed
According to a recent leak, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC is expected to have a combination of 2 Nuvia Phoenix I cores and 6 Phoenix M cores.
Qualcomm is known for producing mobile processors with high performance that are utilized in numerous well-known smartphones and other mobile devices. Their Snapdragon line of processors is used in a wide range of devices and is particularly admired for its speed and power efficiency.
Although there is limited information available regarding unrelased Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, speculations regarding Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is expected to be released next year, have already started to circulate.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 rumored to promise %40 greater performance
Although it may seem premature, leaks about the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 have already started to surface. According to a recent leak on Weibo, the chipset, which has the codename SM8750, will feature Qualcomm's new Nuvia cores and will be one of the first mobile processors to do so.
The Nuvia cores will be configured in a 2+6 setup, consisting of 2 Phoenix I cores and 6 Phoenix M cores. The leaked information also suggests that the chipset is expected to achieve a single-core score of 2,070 points and a multi-core score of 9,100 points on Geekbench 5.
According to previous reports, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to achieve a multi-core score of about 6,500 points and a single-core score of around 1,800 points on Geekbench's benchmarking test.
Therefore, it means that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 set to launch in 2024 could deliver 40% faster performance compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that is expected to arrive this year.
