Qualcomm is gearing up for another significant release, with their next flagship mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, slated for announcement later this month. Recent leaks have revealed that this new processor could potentially outpace its forerunner, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

A prominent source, Digital Chat Station, has recently unveiled performance data for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from AnTuTu benchmark tests. These initial findings highlight an impressive score of 2 million points for the upcoming chip, a leap from the 1.6 million points its predecessor attained.

The performance surge is predominantly evident in the GPU department. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 promises an uplift of about 40% in GPU prowess compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The GPU tests yielded an 840K score for the Gen 3 model, while the Gen 2 scored around 600K. These benchmarks hint at the Gen 3 being equipped with the new Adreno 750 GPU, which could be the force behind the amplified performance. Such advancements are promising for avid mobile gamers, as next-gen smartphones might offer even more stunning gaming experiences.

Moreover, it's worth noting these preliminary benchmarks might not encapsulate the full potential of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Digital Chat Station also indicated that the chipset tested incorporated the LPDDR5T RAM, a more advanced and efficient variant than the LPDDR5X RAM. However, the actual type of RAM in commercial versions of smartphones carrying the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 remains uncertain. If devices incorporate the LPDDR5X RAM, the real-world performance could be slightly diminished compared to these early tests.

As anticipation builds around the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it's essential to approach these early benchmarks with a pinch of caution. Qualcomm's official announcement, expected on October 24, will undoubtedly provide a clearer picture of what to expect.
