Anticipation builds as a prominent Chinese SoC manufacturer hints at an early 2024 release for the highly awaited Nintendo Switch 2, leaving gamers worldwide eager for the next-generation console
In its recent financial report, PixArt, the Chinese manufacturer known for supplying SoC for Nintendo's JoyCon sensors and various components for previous consoles like the Wii and Wii U, disclosed that they are working on a new gaming console for a Japanese company that has been dormant in the console market for several years. This upcoming console is slated for an early 2024 release, sparking excitement among gaming enthusiasts.
Nintendo Switch 2 launch date hinted, seems soon
PixArt's recent financial report does not explicitly mention the new Nintendo Switch, but it strongly suggests that the Chinese manufacturer is referring to the yet-to-be-revealed console, as it is the only Japanese company that has not launched a new system in years, effectively ruling out Sony. Additionally, Hongzhun, a metal cases manufacturer, further hinted at an early 2024 release for the next Nintendo Switch, predicting increased sales in the second half of the year due to Nintendo's console launch plans in the first quarter of 2024.
Although Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, previously stated that no new hardware would be released before March 31st, 2024, the existence of devkits in the hands of select developers indicates that more information on the console is likely to surface soon. As such, eager fans can anticipate updates and announcements about the highly awaited Nintendo Switch successor in the near future.
